Our Mission
At Center For Eye Care Excellence, our mission has always been to preserve, enhance and restore vision by providing the highest quality of medical and surgical care to our patients. Our founding principles are based on creating ethical, lifelong relationships with our patients and fulfilling the eye care needs and vision goals of our patients.
As the Division of Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery for Albany Medical Center’s Department of Ophthalmology, we are a part of the only academic medical center in Northeastern New York. Because we are an academic medical center, we have more access to research and are continuously learning how to improve eye care for our patients. We are among the first in our field to perform the latest procedures, allowing our patients to receive the latest and most advanced medical care available, along with the most innovative technology.
As cornea specialists, our ophthalmologists specialize in the diagnosis and management of eye disease ranging from the surface of the eye, to the cornea, iris and lens. A true cornea specialist has completed one additional year of elective fellowship training in an accredited program after completing four years of medical school and four years of residency. At Center For Eye Care Excellence, our physicians have undergone the equivalent of 13 years of education and training after high school graduation.
Our physicians are often referred complex corneal problems by other respected eye care practitioners, but we also see thousands of patients for general eye care and exams. When you see a cornea specialist, you can be assured that you are receiving care from the most highly trained eye physicians available, whether the diagnosis is routine or complex.
